Fam Anon has groups which meet regularly and spread throughout the country. Anyone, with even a slight suspicion of a substance abuse problem of a close one, is encouraged to come to the gatherings.
Fam Anon was established by a group of families in America in 1971. 1980 marked the formation of the first group in London spearheading creation of 50+ groups with common goal in different parts of the country.
The Fam Anon is a self-sustained organisation which methods are based on the 12 Steps and 12 Traditions programme created by Alcoholics Anonymous.

Only first names are used in gatherings, as FamAnon is an anonymous programme.
